Zuma Bowers Dye, 93, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was born on August 9, 1931, in Cullman, Alabama, to the late William and Nollie (Murphree) Bowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leverne Dye, who passed away in 2022.
Zuma was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Gideons Auxiliary. She also worked as a dorm parent at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School for 12 years, where she was a caring and guiding presence for many students.
She is survived by her son, Alan Layne Dye (Kelly); her daughter-in-law, Konstantina “Dina” Vinson (David); her grandchildren, Allison Dye and Maria Vinson; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Zuma was preceded in death by her sisters, Ima Lee Grimnett and Dee Davis, and her brothers, Evans Bowers and Amuel Bowers.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery, with Pastor John Hutcheson officiating.
