William Stancil

William 73, Clayton, Georgia.


William “Doyle” Stancil, 73 of Clayton, Georgia, Journeyed to his heavenly home on December 19, 2011. Born on September 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Jable and Rosa Watts Stancil.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Brenda English Stancil, one son, Trampes Stancil, one grandson, Trevon Stancil, and a brother George Stancil. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Stancil and a sister, Helen Stancil.
He was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church and was retired from the Rabun County Road Department. A veteran of the United States Army, he served his country for several years in Korea. Doyle was an avid fisherman and bowler and loved to sing.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday December 22, 2011 at Battle Branch Baptist Church, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Madison McCrackin, Rev. Raymond Page and Rev. Dennis Ledford at graveside. Burial will take place in the Persimmon Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday night, December 21, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hunter Funeral Home.
