William Lester Queen, 74, died Monday, April 5, 2021. Family will greet friends for a time of visitation from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the residence, 185 West Juniper Creek Road near Byron.
Born in Rabun County to the late Emory and Pearl Bottoms Queen, Mr. Queen was employed at Dunlap Chevrolet and Youmans Chevrolet for more than 50 years. He was an avid mechanic and loved classic cars. His favorite times were the Easter and Christmas celebrations spent with his grandchildren and other family.
Survivors include his children, Rodney Queen, Leslie Queen, Sharon Kendall (Kevin), Heather Bland (Trevor) and Justin Black (Christy); grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Amber), Kylee Jones, Logan Kendall, Noah Kendall, Marah Kendall, Hayden Bland, Anniston Bland, Taylor Black, and Caydence Chason; great granddaughter, Ruby Caroline Jones; brother, Lamon E. Queen; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He is preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of arrangements.
