Willard D. Welch, 75, of Clayton, GA died Sunday January 20, 2019 at his home.
Born in Franklin, NC March 12, 1943, he was the son of the late Floyd A. Welch and Birdell McGaha. He was the owner of C & W Excavating and Hauling and a member of Carvers Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Birdell Welch, and by brothers, Robert Dale (Bobby) Welch, Charles Edward (Eddie) Welch, James Kenneth (Ken) Welch and Troy Arvil Welch. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Taylor Welch of the home, by a son, Chad Welch (Kayla) of Rabun Gap, GA, two daughters, Lynn Frady (Jamie) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Heather Welch (Trae Sharpe) of Rabun Gap, GA, two sisters, Arbuicus McCroy of Franklin, NC and Patricia Morgan (Jack) of Franklin, NC. Ten grandchildren, Ashley, Brett, Trey, Trenton, Tristen, Jaden, Willard, Emylee, Crystal, and Joe also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday January 23, 2019 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Marvin Reid. Burial will follow at the Kelly Family Cemetery Rabun, Gap, GA., with Rev. Jackie Watts at the graveside service.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Tuesday January 22, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There will also be a visitation Wednesday January 23, 2019 from 12:00noon to 2:00pm (the funeral hour). The family is at the home on Moseley Lane, Clayton, GA.
