Will Ramey

Will Raymond (Possum) Ramey, 58 , of Quick Step Lane, Clayton, Georgia died Thursday evening , January 21 , 2016 at his home.

Born in Clayton, Georgia July 27, 1957. He was the son of Bertha Phillips Ramey of Clayton and the late Edward Ramey.

He was employed by the Rabun County Road Dept. before his illness made him retire. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by three brothers , Russell Ramey , Earl Ramey and Fred Ramey and two sisters, Juanita Ramey and Mertie Bell Ramey and is survived by his mother , Bertha Phillips Ramey of Clayton ; two daughters , Kayla Ramey and her fiance Johnny McCarthy of Rabun Gap , Georgia , Jessica Thomas (Matthew) of Lakemont, Georgia , three grandchildren , Hailey McCarthy, Addie Ramey and Marlon Thomas. Two sisters , Lola Beasley of Clayton ,Georgia , Lula Rose Shirley of Cornelia , Ga. , two brothers Robert Ramey (Gladys) of Clayton, Georgia , James Ramey (Donna) of Barnesville , Ga. several nephews , nieces and cousins also survive.

The body is at the Hunter funeral home with visitation to be held Tuesday Jan. 26, 2016 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Cremation will follow visitation.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday Jan. 30, 2016 at the Clayton Church of God with Rev. Larry Cannon officiating.

The family is at their respective residences.

He will be greatly missed , but always in our hearts. He was a great man with a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends.
