Walter R. Astringer

Walter R. Astringer, 87, of Blueridge Gap, Road Rabun Gap, GA., died Saturday October 17, 2015 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

Born in New Jersey February 18, 1928, he was the son of the late Robert and Myrtle Fanning Astringer. He spent most of his life in Ormond Beach, Florida., where he was a realtor and a member of the fire Department. He worked with Martian – Marrieta and helped put up the Tell-star Satellite. He belonged to the Episcopal Church. He was married to Dolores Ashburn in 1974 and retired to Rabun Gap in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Ashburn Astringer of the home. Two Sons, Steven Kayser of Mainville, Ohio and Richard Gatrost of New Smyrna Beach, FL., one daughter, Gherry Frederick of Morrow, Ohio., one brother, Robert Astringer of New Jersey., Twelve grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren also survive.

The body has been cremated. No memorial service planned. The family is at home on Blue ridge Gap Road in Rabun Gap, GA.
