Virginia Louise Bleckley Hopkins, age 83 of Clayton, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024.
She was born on October 31, 1940 in Rabun County to the late Howell and Cora (Speed) Bleckley. She was married to, Glenn "Rip" Hopkins who passed away in 2013. Virginia was of the Christian Faith and she was the owner and operator of Virginia's Kitchen in Clayton, GA.
Virginia is survived by one son, Doug Hopkins and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Jesse Hopkins, Sam Hopkins, Kelli Brown, and Brittney Hopkins; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Bleckley and Al Bleckley; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Hopkins who passed in 2018; six brothers, Marvin Bleckley, Andrew Bleckley, Pickett Bleckley, Jeff Bleckley, Richard Bleckley and Alvin Crowe; and two sisters, Margie Crowe and Julie Speed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Watts and Sam Manus officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Grove Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the services hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
