Vera Hopkins Dodgins

Vera Hopkins Dodgins, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on August 28, 2024, in Lakemont, GA, at the age of 65. Born on November 27, 1958, to the late Howard J. Hopkins and Rosalie Lester Hopkins.

Vera was married to Thomas Dodgins, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Together, along with their children, they explored some of the most beautiful National Parks across the country, with the Great Smoky Mountains holding a special place in her heart, particularly for the majestic elk that roamed there.

Vera is survived by her daughter, April Webb, and her husband, Matt; her son, Matthew Dodgins-Malone, and his husband, Michael; and her cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Stewart, Annie Webb, Emily Webb, and Rachel Webb. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, Briana Dickerson and Brittany Lumley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Hunter Funeral Homes Eastside Chapel, with Chaplain John Reeser and Pastor Adam Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Powell Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home on Friday evening, August 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
