Tammie Catherine McCroskey

Tammie Catherine McCroskey, age 61 of Clayton, GA, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born on January 4, 1963 in Stephens County, GA to the late Frank Smith and Flossie Wilbanks McCroskey.

Tammie was survived by her husband of 37 years, Mike Turpin; one daughter Tiffany Whitmire (Calvin); grandchildren, Owen and Macy Whitmire; best friend and sister, Melissa Wilkes (Richard Turpin); sister, Wanda Garrett; two brothers, Danny McCroskey and Timothy Wilbanks; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Tammie enjoyed camping and horseback riding, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was employed at Caterpillar in Franklin, NC, from 2007 to 2015, home health caregiver from 2016-2022 and Paws for Life from 2022-2023.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Waylon Vinson and Shawn Clarke officiating. Services will be held at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Fuenral Home on 451 Warwoman Rd. Clayton, GA. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
