Susie H. Dockins

Susie Hembree Dockins, 64, of Clayton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 24, 2014 after a short stay at Athens Regional Hospital.

Susie was born December 21, 1949, in Macon County North Carolina, to Arthur and Rheda Hembree. Susie leaves behind five sisters, Barbara Bramblett (Floyd), Katie Moore, Melinda Matheson (Bud), Carlene Dills (Horace) Joann Chappell (Gene), one brother, Hoyt Hembree (Frances), and sister-in-law, Jan Hembree. Susie also leaves behind a loving husband of 47 years, Boyd Dockins. She was a loving mother to two daughters; Angie Dickerson (Michael), Dawn Frady (David). She was Nana to six grandchildren Jason Corder, Whitney Dickerson, Kenzie Dickerson, Jacob Hemrick, Megan Frady, Michael Frady, and Kimberly Frady and one great-granddaughter, Rilye Mae Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Rheda Hembree, three brothers, G.C., Charlie, Harold Hembree and a step daughter, Kim Corder.

Susie worked in retail management for several years, most of her life. Susie was a caregiver caring for the needs of loved ones.

Susie’s body has been donated to Emory University.

Her family will have a celebration of life, Saturday October 18, 2014 at noon at the Rabun County Recreation Department Old Gym.

Susie’s family is in charge of arrangements.
