Stephen H. Blake, 85, Tiger, Ga.


Stephen H. Blake, 85, of Bridge Creek Rd, Tiger, Georgia, died Friday February 5, 2010 in Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
Born in New Britain, Connecticut, November 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Stephen Alexander and Helen Howard Blacek. He was the widower of Frances Murphy Blake. He was a retired Sales Executive in Industrial Abrasives with the Norton Company.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps. Veteran of WWII and a member of St. Helena Catholic Church in Clayton.
Mr. Blake is survived by five sons: Stephen T. Blake and Gregory J. Blake, both of Clarkesville, Georgia, Christopher L. Blake of Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan H. Blake of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Joseph M. Blake of Los Angeles California. Three daughters: Cheryl Blake Dabney of Dillard, Georgia. Mary L. Blake of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Barbara Blake Bertschy of Niles, Michigan. Two sisters: JoAnne Vanucinni and Dorothy Blake both of Newington, Connecticut, fourteen Grandchildren, and ten Great Grandchildren also survives.
A funeral Mass will be at St. Helena Catholic Church Monday February 8, 2010 at 9:00 AM by Father Abel Guerreo. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Monday at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy Tucker, Georgia.
The body is at Hunter Funeral home and will be taken to St. Helena Catholic Church Monday February 8, 2010, where viewing will be from 8:45 to 9:00 AM.
The family is at their respective residences. The family asks that in lieu of flowers Memorial Donations be made to Parkinson’s Disease Association, PO Box 3211, Rome, Georgia 30164.
