Shirley I. Struck, January 15, 1928 – August 26, 2013
On August 26, 2013 God called Shirley Struck, 85, of Clayton, Georgia to her Heavenly home. Born in West Frankfort, Illinois, then raised in Springfield, Illinois she married her high school sweet heart Karl Struck and celebrated their 64 th Anniversary in June. Shirley was a cook in the Sangamon County School System for many years. She then was a cook for Toddletown Day Care Center. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield, IL. In 1978 they moved to Clayton, Georgia and was thankful to call it home. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and a joy to all the people she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her father Floyd Price and stepmother Marjorie Price.
Survivors include her husband, Karl Struck of the home. Daughters Elaine Platt of Shirley Illinois, Diane Jackson (Dick) of Loomis, California and Nancy McCall (Cecil) of Tiger, Georgia. Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday August 30, 2013 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday August 29, 2013. The family is at the home on Dixieland Lane, Clayton, Georgia.
