Shirley Jean Hedge Shirley, 76, Of Clayton, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her residence.
Born May 5, 1935 in Bache, Oklahoma she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Ervin and Mary Barrett Hedge. Mrs . Shirley had spent most of her life in Rabun County. She was a Classically Trained Italian Chef and had been a self employed Restaurant owner. She was a person of faith.
Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Carol Shirley of Turnerville, GA and John and Michele Shirley of Shirley Grove Community; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Margaret and Lowell Rogers of Clayton, GA, Kathy Spence of Tiger, GA, Debbie and Scott Johnson of Colorado, and Diane and Stacey Jones of Clayton, GA; Three sisters and a brother-in-law, Melba Lindsey, Phyllis and Frank DeLeo, and Delores Heck all of California; ten grand children, three great grand children and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11 AM at the Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
The family is at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Shirley’s memory to the Sid Weber Foundation, P.O. Box 485, Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
