Sarah Ann Redden, 94, of Franklin, North Carolina., died Friday April 25, 2014 at home on Southside Lane.
She was born April 2, 1920 in Rabun County, Georgia., to the late John M. Redden and Martha Watts Redden. She worked in Rabun County Courthouse as Janitor and Housekeeper in County Offices. She was a member of the Mountain City Christian Church. She was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester (Buck) Redden and by a sister, Leona Queen, and is survived by two sons, Billy Redden and by Clarence Redden (Cheryl) of Rabun Gap, GA., one daughter,, Bonnie R. Metcalf (Elam) of Franklin, NC., four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday April 28, 2014 at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Smith and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday April 27, 2014. The body will be placed in the church at 12:00 noon to lie-in-state. The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Cheryl Redden on O.V. Justus Road., Rabun Gap, Georgia.
