Samuel Douglas “Doug” Mitchell, 75, of Clayton, GA., died Friday January 11, 2019 in Cleveland, Georgia.,

Born in Clayton, Georgia., April 3, 1943 he was the son, of the late Rockaway and Elzia McCall Mitchell. He was retired from Fruit of the Loom and was of the Baptist Faith.,

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Rockaway and Elzia Mitchell and by three brothers, Thomas Mitchell J.R. Mitchell and Lloyd Mitchell and by four sisters, Hilda Hopper, Patsy Alley, Blondine Barron and Hazel Kilby., and is survived by two sons, Brian Mitchell of Laurinburg, NC., and Dayton Mitchell of Clayton, GA., and a daughter, Lisa Tew and husband (Rock) of Laurinburg, NC., by three sisters, Betty Jo Gibby of Clayton, GA., Beverly Mason, of Clayton, and Marilyn Ballew of Clayton, GA. Eight grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Graveside services will be at Roane Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday January 15, 2019 with Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating., a visitation will be at Hunter Funeral Home Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 12:45 with graveside Services following at Roane Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.
The family is at their respective residences.
