Ruth Hopkins Scroggs, Age 80, of Tiger, Georgia. Died Saturday August 1, 2009 from Injuries received in an Automobile Accident. She was the Widow of Frank Scroggs, Jr.
Born in Rabun County October 18, 1928, She was the daughter of the late William and Lizzle Page Hopkins. She was a Manager of Convenience Stores for a number of Years. She was a Baptist by Faith.
She was preceded in Death by a son, Michael Scroggs, and is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Melba and Joe Drexler of Rabun Gap, Ga., Stella and Olin McCrackin of Anderson, SC., Cheryl and Johnny Shirley of Clarkesville, Ga., Sandra Ivester of Tiger, Ga., Jackie and Monty Key of Toccoa, Ga. Two sisters, Frances Watts of Akron, Ohio and Margie Rogers of Wellington, Alabama. Twenty Grandchildren and Eighteen Great Grandchildren. Several Nephews, Nieces and Cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday August 4, 2009 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Layman Lloyd Hunter Officiating. Burial will be in the Tiger Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 To 8 P.M. Monday August 3, 2009. The family is at the Residence on Syrup City Road in Tiger.
