Russell Wayne McKay, 50, Atlanta, Ga.


Russell Wayne McKay, 50, of the Atlanta, area formerly of the Lakemont Community died Tuesday, February 23, 2010.
Born in Rabun County, Georgia. August 20, 1959, he was the son of the late Bud and Dorothy Garland McKay. He was a mechanic by trade and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by one daughter, Crystal McKay; two brothers, and their Wives, Rev. Buddy and Betty McKay of Tiger, Ga., and Randy and Tonya McKay of Lakemont, Ga., one Sister; Sandra Turpin and her husband Bob Turpin of Mountain City, Ga., two nephews; Bud Olan McKay and wife Cathey of Tiger, Ga., and Dalton Randy McKay of Lakemont, Ga., two nieces; Dana Rene McKay of Lakemont, Ga., and Shamara Zancanella of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 27, 2010 at the Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy McKay and Rev. Tony Goss officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the Church at 10:00 A.M. to lie in state until the service hour.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2010. The family is at the home of his brother and sister-in-law Randy and Tonya McKay in Lakemont.
