Ruby Bryson Phillips, 87, of Clayton, GA., widow of the Rev. Bill Phillips, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Mountain View Healthcare Center.
Born July 26, 1920 in Oconee County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Dora Watts Bryson. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith and had attended the Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Jean Ramey of Columbus, GA., Linda Edwards of Englewood, FL, Sue Mayro of Hiram, GA, Lee Kilby and Elaine Justus both of Clayton, GA; seven sisters, Jule Dickerson of Toccoa, GA, Lou Dalrymple of Toccoa, GA, Cora Camp of Carnesville, GA Sue Dotson of Toccoa, GA, Betty Myers of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Camp of Atlanta, GA and Mary Bell Edwards of Sumpter, SC; 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Ted and Lawrence Bryson, and one sister, Little Dora Bryson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10 AM from the chapel of the Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Phillips and the Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park, Tiger, GA.
The family is at the home of her grandson Kevin Phillips, West Pinecrest Street in Clayton, GA., and will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday, June 13, 2008 at Hunter Funeral Home.
