Ross Alexander, 67, of Rollin Hills Lane, Clayton Georgia died Wednesday June 22, 2011 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.
Born in Rabun County, April 3, 1944, he was the son of the late William R. and Margie Seay Alexander. He was a carpenter and motor grader operator and was of the Church of God Faith. He was an avid coon hunter and belonged to the Rabun County coon hunters club.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, James Alexander, Gus Alexander, Frank Alexander and Wallace Alexander, by two sisters, twin sister Rose Alexander, and Della Hopper. He is survived by his wife, Frances Reece Alexander of the home, by one son, Rev. Bryan Alexander and his wife, Angie of Mt. City. One daughter, Rachel Justice and her husband Todd, five sisters, Lola Mae Coleman, Mt. City, Georgia, Verleen Holt and Essie Justus of Clayton, Gladys Webb of Clarkesville, Georgia and Mary Ann Henslee of Rabun Gap Georgia, five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 26, 2011 at the Clayton Church of God with Rev. Jeff Conner officiating. Burial will be in Blue Heights Cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Clayton Church of God Saturday evening June 25, 2011 where family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. The family is at the home of his son, Pastor Bryan Alexander in Mt. City.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers donation be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton Georgia 30525 To aid in funeral expenses.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
