Roger Earl Ramey

Roger Earl Ramey, 75, of Carin Lane in Lakemont, GA passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence.

Born in Lakemont, GA on September 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Hugh William Ramey and Pauline Hollifield Ramey. Roger spent his life in Rabun County, where he worked as a self-employed painter. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Wiley Presbyterian Church. He loved dirt track racing and was a founding member of the Lakemont/Wiley Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Pauline Ramey and a brother, Thomas “Tom” Ramey. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis Carver Ramey of the home, a daughter, Carin Ramey Williams of Alto, GA, two brothers, Henry Ramey of Wiley, GA, Vaughn and Betty Ramey of Lakemont, GA, three sisters, Geneva Ramey Dotson of McDonough, GA, Reba Ramey Dotson of Mtn. City, GA and Laverne Ramey Hunnicut of Toccoa, GA and by a grandson, Aiden Michael Williams. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family is at their respective residences.
