Robert Earl Garland Jr.

Robert Earl Garland Jr., age 82, of Clayton, GA passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024.

Born on November 3, 1941, to the late Robert Earl Garland Sr. and Ida Mae Wall Garland. He was preceded in death by the Love of his life his wife, Opal Lee Dailey Garland who passed away January 20, 2024. Robert was a carpenter for many years and a self-taught custom cabinet maker and owner of Garland Cabinet Shop for over 40 years.

He was survived by two daughters, Brenda Lee Garland Cook and husband Steve, and Dowana Garland Hopper and husband Allen; grandchildren, Chris Cook (Lauren), Jennifer Cook Byrnes (Matt), Rebecka Hopper Carpenter (Caney), Austin Hopper (Haley); great grandchildren, Charlie Cook, Anna Kate Cook, Hugh Byrnes, Mary Belle Byrnes, Annslee Grace Carpenter, and Ellie Faye Hopper; three sisters and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by all three brothers. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am– 12:00 pm prior to the service. A private graveside service will follow.
