Robert Conner

Robert Jackson Conner, 47, of Cecil Cannon Road, Rabun Gap, GA., affectionately known as “Robbie”,, died Saturday January 11, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Franklin, North Carolina July 14, 1966 to Clifford E. Conner and Carolyn Elizabeth Darnell. He was a heavy equipment operator and trucker, long haul and was a member of the Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Robbie was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Elizabeth Conner Hicks; by two brothers, Bobby Edwin “Bird” Conner and by Roy Martin (Marty) Conner and is survived by his father and stepmother, Clifford and Margie Conner and by a brother, Rev. Harvey Conner and his wife Susan of Otto, NC. Two nieces; Kate and Anna Conner; two nephews, Evan Conner and Jonathon York and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be at Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church Thursday January 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ray Conner and Rev. Clay Patton officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to Newman’s Chapel Baptist Church Thursday January 16, 2014 where family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The family is at their respective residences.
