Rheba Sheryl Henslee

Rheba Sheryl Henslee, age 64, of Clayton, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Born on October 2, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Owen and Edna Frady Owen.

Rheba had a heart full of love for her family, and she expressed it through her wonderful cooking and baking, creating meals that brought everyone together. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and a loving partner, whose kindness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her. For the past 15 years, Rheba shared her life with her loving companion, Jerry Knight. Together they built a relationship filled with care and affection.

She is survived by her son Samuel O'Shields and his wife Theresa, along with their children, Abigail, Savannah, and Parker O'Shields; daughter in law, Teresa O'Shields; grandchildren, Anna O’Shields, Emily O'Shields, Preston O'Shields and Austin O'Shields; her brothers and sisters: Tim Owen, Gene Owen, Margie Stern, Mitch Owen, and Brian Owen; her significant other, Jerry Knight; Stephanie Carter, Rebecca Gibson and several other nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Mitchel “Elwood” O’Shields and his wife Theresa, and Harrison Ray O’Shields; infant daughter, Emily Leann O'Shields; grandchildren, Tucker O’Shields and Jeffery O'Shields; and her brothers Tommy and David Owen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, located at 423 Warwoman Rd., Clayton, GA 30525. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Wolf Mountain Cemetery, located at 2237 Wolf Mountain Rd., Tuckasegee, NC 28783.
