Rev. Cranford E. Carnes

Rev. Cranford E. Carnes , 93 , of Cleveland , Ga. formerly of Rabun County , died Saturday April 9 , 2016 at Gateway Health and Rehab in Cleveland, Ga. He was the last member of his immediate family. He was the widower of Inez Snyder Carnes who died in Dec. 2014.
He was born in Rabun County , Oct. 16 , 1922 to Elisha A. Carnes and Martha Fincannon Carnes. He was a retired Baptist Minister. He served several baptist churches in Rabun County and Habersham County and retired full time pastorate in Franklin County , twenty – eight years ago . He was a member of the Rabun County Ministerial Association and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
Cranford was preceded in death besides his parents by three brothers and five sisters, and is survived by one son Aaron Carnes (Windi) of Lakemont,Ga. , one daughter Judy Carnes of Myrtle Beach , South Carolina . Four grandchildren , Joshua Carnes , Walter Ivie , Jennifer Harrison and Dustin Ivie , five great grandchildren , Taylor , Caitlyn , Redding , Amelia and Dustin. Several nephews , nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm. Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Jewell Gaines , Rev. Mickey Woods officiating. Rev. Scott Cates will officiate graveside service at Liberty Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter funeral home where family will receive friends Monday April 11 , 2016 from 6 to 8 pm . The body will be placed in the Church at 12:00 noon Tuesday to lie in state.
The family is at the home of his son and daughter- in – law , Aaron and Windi Carnes on Biddy Mtn. Road , Lakemont, Ga.
