Ray Alvin (Randy) Owens, 55, of HWY 76 East, Clayton, Georgia died Thursday September 6, 2012 at his residence.
Born January 31, 1957 in Rabun County, he was the son of Jane Patterson of Clayton and the late Calvin Owens. He was a construction worker and attended the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Owens and is survived by his mother, Jane McRee of Clayton. Three sons, Luther Owens of Dillard, GA., Jason Owens and his wife Billie of Rabun Gap, GA., and Ricky of Clayton. Two brothers, Tony Owens of Clayton and Ricky Bradley of Chester, SC. One sister, Melony Hopper of Tiger, GA. Five grandchildren, Britanie, Brooke, Lucy, Josie and Joseph also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the Persimmon Community Center (former Persimmon School Building) with Rev. Michael Rogers and Doyle Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Frady cemetery off Acorn Creek Road.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Tuesday September 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. The body will be placed in the Community Center at 10:30 A.M. to lie in state.
The family is at their respective residences.
