Pearl Lamberth 89, Wiley
Pearl Lamberth was born September 20, 1921 in Oglethorpe, Georgia and went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 18, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Lamberth, by her father and mother, Seaborn Franklin and Minnie Cynthia Kitchens. Also preceding her in death were her brothers George, Jim, and Luther, and her sisters Cynthia, Leola and Jewel. She was preceded in death by one child, her son Jerry William Lamberth and by her son-in-law Lawrence W. Taylor, Sr.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Lanier Lamberth, and her daughter, Minnie Beatrice Taylor both of Wiley, GA. In addition she is survived by two grandsons, Lawrence W. Taylor, Jr., and his wife Nancy, and Kenneth Michael Taylor and his wife Davina.
Known to most as Granny or Mama she worked her entire life to take care of her family. She was an excellent cook and a wonderful biscuit maker. She also worked with her family members at the original Barto’s Bar-B-Que in Wiley. Pearl was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and endeavored to serve him faithfully.
The entire family wishes to express our gratitude to the good people at Tugalo Home Health, Dr. Larry Bennett, the members of the Lakemont-Wiley Volunteer Fire Department, Lloyd Hunter and staff at Hunter Funeral Home for their help and assistance during this difficult time. We appreciate you all.
The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 4 PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Hunter Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 4 PM in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home, with Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Joy Baptist Church Cemetery.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
