Octavia Moore (Tavia) Holcomb, 78, of Lake City, Georgia, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Lake City.
She was born in Rabun County, December 8, 1934 to John and Julia Watts Moore. She was the widow of George M. Holcomb. “Tavia” spent most of her life in Morrow, Georgia. She was a homemaker and a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Clayton County, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by four sisters; Louise Moore, Lorene Lovell, Doris Alley and Ruth Duncan. And is survived by one son, George Holcomb (Gail) of Vidalia, GA. Two daughters; Barbara Holcomb Black of Gulf Shores, AL., Linda Holcomb Palmer of McDonough, GA. Three sisters, Jean Watkins of Conyers, GA., Betty Hawkins (Harold) of Lake City, GA., and Christine Burks of Pensacola, FL. Seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be Friday November 15, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at The Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. George Holcomb and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Roane Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday November 14, 2013. The family is at their respective residences.
