Nicholas Duane, Sr., 92, of McCoy Street, Mountain City, GA., died Sunday July 13, 2008 at his home in Mountain City.
Born in Pennsylvania October 21, 1915, he was the son of the late Anna Barabusch. He was a baker in the Bakery Industry along with other employment. He was a US Marine Corps. Veteran and attended Blue Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Pankow Duane, and by two sisters- Ann Kaminsky and Mary Morrison.
He is survived by a special friend and caregiver Gertrude "Gertie" Richards of Mtn. City; One son Nicholas Duane, JR. of Wyoming, RI.; one daughter, Genie Castorina of Clayton, GA. and one grandson and one great grand child both of Virginia.
The body has been cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date. The family is at the home of Gertrude Richards, McCoy Street in Mtn. City.
