Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences and Monika Allison Childress, 63, of Tiger, GA wife of Stan Childress, died Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Childress was born December 7, 1944 in Munich, Germany a daughter of the late Arvin and Elizabeth Allison. She was widely traveled, but had spent most of her life in Florida. Mrs. Childress worked with Rev. Billy Graham in “THE COVE”, was very active in Missionary work abroad and she was very active in the Liberty Baptist Church where she was a member and volunteered in many capacities.
Survivors include her husband; Stan Childress of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law ; Ryan Eric Childress and wife Dawn of Knoxville, TN, Bryan Edward Childress and wife Rose of Port St. Lucie, FL, Stephen Stanley Childress and wife Bridget of Macon, GA., two daughters and sons-in-law; Heidi Greene and husband James of Boynton Beach, FL., Tiffany Janina Davis and husband Daron of Atlanta, GA., five grandchildren; Taylor Greene of Boynton Beach, FL., Holly and Kiley Childress of Port St. Lucie, FL., Justin and Lindsey Childress of Macon, GA., several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Cates officiating. The family will receive friends in the Liberty Baptist Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
