Mildred Marie Rogers, 85, of Ponderosa Road, Rabun Gap, Georgia died Wednesday October 26, 2011 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
Born in Bryson City, North Carolina May 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Sally Burns Warren. She was the widow of Jasper Carl Rogers. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mt. City Church of God.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Carl Rogers and by a daughter, Iris Violet Barker, by two brothers, Daniel Birchfield and Frank Birchfield, and is survived by one daughter and her husband, Lois and Ernest Nix of Rabun Gap, Georgia, one brother Wayne Birchfield of Bryson City, North Carolina, one sister, Mary Ann Grogg of Kingsport, Tennessee. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday October 27, 2011 at the chapel of Hunter Funeral home with Rev. Roy Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Wright Cemetery, Otto, North Carolina, conducted by Rev. Marty Kilby.
The body is at Hunter Funeral home where family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (The Funeral Hour) Thursday October 27, 2011.
The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Ernest Nix on Ponderosa Road, Rabun Gap, Georgia.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
