Mary Ward

Mary Frances Ward, 90, affectionately known as Fran of Sterrett Road, Tiger, Georgia., died Monday October 21, 2013 at Cannonwood Village Assisted Living Facility, Tiger, Georgia. She was the widow of Russell Raymond Ward.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi, December 27, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Guy and Mary Grace Hicks. She was owner/operator of Ward Hardware Company in Turks and Caicos Islands in British West Indies (BWI) and was a member of Clayton First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by, besides her husband and parents, a daughter, Anne Ward Pinder, and is survived by three sons; Russell Ward (Jackie) of Tiger, GA., David Ward (Sally) of British West Indies, John H, Ward (Stephanie) of British West Indies. One Sister, Billie Hicks Daniel Evens (Dell) Clayton, GA. Six grandchildren; Russell, Robert, Christina and Danielle Ward, Gregory and Jennifer Pinder, and one great grandson, Donny Pinder.

Funeral Services will be Saturday October 26, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Clayton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Roane Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and the family is at the home on Sterrett Road, Tiger, Georgia. The body will be placed in Clayton First United Methodist Church Saturday October 26, 2013, where family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour).
