Mary Ruth Rogers Swafford, 60, of Johnson Street Westminster, SC, died Sunday night June 3, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Mountain City, GA., March 8, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Logan L. and Bernice Queen Rogers and had lived her life in Rabun County, GA and Oconee County, South Carolina. She was a homemaker and a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Long Creek, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy F. Swafford., and two sisters; Martha J. Rogers and Carolyn A. Rogers, and is survived by one son; Jimmy Glenn Swafford of Westminster, SC, one daughter Tonya Swafford Marlow, Westminster, SC, four brothers, James Queen and his wife, Martha of Tiger, GA, Logan Junior Rogers of Toccoa, GA, Billy Rogers and his wife, Deanna of Greenville, SC, Hershel Rogers of Mountain City, GA and four grandchildren Tamara, Corey, Rebecca and Jacob. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Unity Baptist Church, Long Creek, SC with Rev. Thomas Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in Long Creek cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM, Tuesday night, June 5, 2012.
The family is at the home of her niece and her husband, Tammy and Gary Speed on #10 Lane, Clayton, GA.
