Mary Stancil

Mary Louise Moore Stancil, 73, of Newport, New Hampshire died Sunday July 21, 2013 in Newport.

Born in Rabun County March 13, 1940 she was the daughter of the late V.L. and Eula Marie Watts Moore. She was a homemaker and a very loving and loved woman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Penny Free and by a brother, Carl Watts and is survived by a son, Sandy Stancil (Cheryl) of Goshen, NH., and by a daughter, Tina Stancil of Lula, GA., by sisters, Inez Watts and Alice Wilson (Robert) of Tiger, GA., three grandchildren, Amber Mills (Ryan) of Tiger, GA., Logan Stancil of Goshen, NH., Cody Shirley (Abby) of Mt. City, GA., three great grandchildren, Danielle, Riley, and Mia. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved life, music and John Wayne. She loved the simple things in life and was always smiling and never met a stranger. Mary had a long history of strokes and heart problems but she battled through and never complained. She will be deeply missed.

Her body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday July 28, 2013 with Rev. Larry Cannon and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery on Bridge Creek Road.

The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday July 27, 2013. The family is at their respective residences.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made, in her honor, to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA., to aid in funeral expenses.
