Martha McKay Zimmerman 79, CLayton, GA


Martha McKay Zimmerman, 79, of Respberry Drive Clayton, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
Born in Rabun County December 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Maury B. McKay and Oma Woodall McKay. She was the widow of Augustus Zimerman. She was a waitress in the restaurant business and was of the Baptist faith and attended the Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Augustus Zimmerman; by brothers, Willie J. McKay, Wesley McKay, Johnny Ray McKay, Frank McKay and Bud McKay. Also several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She is survived by two brothers; Bill McKay of Clayton and David McKay of Lakemont. By two sisters; Ann Quina of Ft. Myers, Florida and Louise Arvey of Ellenwood, GA. and also by several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Camp Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Burrell and Rev. Buddy McKay officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday night, November 18, 2011. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00AM Saturday to lie in state. The family is at the home of her brother, Bill McKay on Respberry Drive in the Five Points Community, Clayton, GA.
