Martha Sue Bleckley 77, Rabun Gap, GA
Martha Sue Bleckley, 77, of Orange Park, Florida, died Wednesday April 30, 2008 at Orange Park Medical Center in Florida.
She was born in Rabun County October 13, 1931, a daughter of the late Jasper H. and Icie Darnell Bleckley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Viola P. Bleckley and Margaret Ann Williams (Peggy); three brothers; James Edward, Jasper H. and John D. Bleckley (Jack). She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Middleburg, FL. She was a graduate of Florida State University with a Masters Degree in Education. She retired from Duval County School System after 39 years of Service. Martha Sue enjoyed being with her family and many friends. She traveled extensively and was an avid reader. She believed that education was on going and truly believed in “Pay It Forward” mind set.
Survivors include one sister; Sarah B. Fisk of Monroe, NC; sister-in-law Charlene B. Phillips of Winston Salem, NC; brother-in-law, Walter N. Williams of Madison, FL. and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the Betty’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronia Hunter, Rev. Dale Welsh and the Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Betty’s Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Hunter Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM Saturday, May 3, 2008. The family will be at the home on Betty’s Creek Road Friday, May 2, 2008.
