Marlene James

Marlene Underwood James, 81, of Bald Mountain RD, Dillard, GA, Died Thursday February 7, 2013 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, Clayton, Ga. She was the widow of Horace James.


Born in Rabun County, August 10, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Willie and Grace Wall Underwood. She was a secretary in the Business world and was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in the Chechero Community.

Marlene is survived by two sisters; Catherine Anglin of Alpharetta, GA., and Evelyn Justus of Clayton, GA. One brother, William Norton of Florida and a sister-in-law, Connie Norton of Florida. Five stepsisters; Barbara Jenkins of Dillard, GA, Jean Trusty of Mountain City, GA, Jackie Houck, Pauline Fountain and Oma Lee Grim all of Clayton, GA. One Special Aunt; Lillie Mae Peoples of Clayton and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.


Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M.. Saturday February 9, 2013 at Scaly Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery in Scaly Mountain, NC., conducted by Rev. Lee Krivsky. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home.Tthe family is at the home of her aunt, Lillie Mae Peoples, on New Hope Church Road, Clayton, GA. There will be no visitation
