Margie Odena Rogers Smith, 75, of Flowery Branch, Georgia., Formerly of Rabun County, died Saturday January 28, 2012 in Tucker, GA.,
Born September 5, 1936 in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin w. and Flora Mae Wilburn Rogers. She had spent most of her life in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
She was a member of County Line Baptist Church where she belonged to the group known as” the happy timers”. She was a retired cook in the school systems.
Margie was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Morgan and Daniel Morgan and by a daughter, Cynthia Morgan and also by brothers, Lemmie Rogers, Jimmy Rogers and Billy Rogers and sisters, Sally Rogers, Josephine Watkins and Jackie Sims, and is survived by her husband; E.F. Smith of the home. One son; Jeff Morgan of Strawberry Plains, Tenn. Two daughters; Tammy Bolin of Kennesaw, GA., and Melissa Hughes, of Flowery Branch, GA. Two sisters, Katherine Jackson of Dawsonville, GA., Jessie Fowler of Blue Ridge, GA. Grandchildren; Christina, James, Harley, Ashley, Matricia, Megan, Jessica and Joann. Five great grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday January 31, 2012 in Hunter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Fowler and Rev. Larry Cannon officating. Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday January 30, 2012.
The family is at their respective residences.
