Lula Faith Power James , 77 , of Joe Davis Rd. Tiger , Ga. went to be with Jesus on Sunday December 7 , 2008 from Britthaven Nursing Center of Franklin , North Carolina , where she had been for almost 11 years.
Born in Stephens County , Ga. Feburary 26 , 1931 she was the daughter of the late Doyle and Vesta Scott Power of Toccoa , Ga. She was a Homemaker and had been employed by various businesses in Clayton and Rabun County for many years. She worked for Harper’s Five and Dime , and Belk’s of Clayton , and also for Sangamo Weston for many years . She was a member of the Tiger Baptist Church .
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years , Jesse J. James and by a grandson , Matthew Douglas James , and is survived by three children and their spouses , Connie and Wesley Baskin of Canon , Ga. , Steve and Judy James of Lakemont , Ga. , Rev. Doug and Renee James of Vienna , Ga. Four grandchildren , Daryl Moore of Tiger, Jessica James of Atlanta , Ga. ; Dylan James of Savannah , Ga. and Douglas “Bubba” James of Vienna , Ga. a brother Rev. Gene Power of Toccoa , Ga. also survives .
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 10 , 2008 at the Tiger Baptist Church with Rev. Doug James and Rev. Leon Miller officiating . Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park .
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday December 9, 2008.
The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday December 10, 2008 to lie in state .
The family is at the home of her son and daughter- in – law , Steve and Judy James on Bee Blossom Lane , Lakemont.
Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials in her honor be made to the Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, 505 Waterworks Rd. Palmetto , Ga. 30268.
