Louise Nix Owens 88, Clayton


Louise Nix Owens, 88, of the Satolah Community,Clayton., widow of Doyle Herman Owens died Tuesday March 6, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Rabun County, March 16, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leona Reed Nix. She was a home maker and a life long member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen and Alan Owens and four brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Owens and wife Freda of Franklin, NC and Wayne Owens and wife Tomiko of Myrtle Beach, SC; one daughter, Norma Wilborn of Clayton, GA. two sisters, Clara Owens of Seneca, SC and Ella Mae Wilson of Highlands, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Owens, Rachel Green, Dawn Wilborn, Ashley Owens and Meagan Rogers; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday March 10, 2012. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Rogers, Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Everett Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday March 9, 2012 and will be placed in the church Saturday March 10, 2012 at 1 PM to lie in state until the funeral hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and are asked to assemble at the church at 12:45 PM on Saturday, R.L. Wilson, Edwin Wilson, Clay Owens, Steve Nix, Laland Owens and Stanley Owens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank McCall, Kevin Nix, Morris Nix, Charles Reed, Dennis Ivester and Ralph Reed and will assemble at the church at 1:30 PM Saturday.
The family is at the home on Hwy 28 N. in the Satolah community.
Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
