Lorene Jones

Lorene McKay Jones 90, of Clayton, Georgia., died Monday September 26, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, GA. She was the widow of Ira Dean Jones.

Born in Lakemont Georgia., June 11, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Berlie Smith McKay. She was a Creel Leader for Burlington a former member of Mt. City Homemakers Club and a member of the Wiley Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death besides her husband, Ira Jones and by her parents, by one brother, Charles McKay., and is survived by two sons, Marshall Jones (Meritta) of Lakemont, GA., and Eddie Jones (Linda) of Tiger, GA. Two daughters, Brenda Jones of Clayton, GA., and Sheryl Irwin of Martinez, GA., six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Wednesday September 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Conducted by Rev. Jewell Gaines and Layman Lloyd Hunter. Burial will follow in the Tiger Cemetery Tiger, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends Tuesday September 27, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family is at home on Hillside Drive, Clayton, GA.
