Lillie Jane Watts Benfield 69, Clayton, Georgia.
Lillie Jane Watts Benfield, 69, of East Wolf Creek Road Clayton and affectionately known as “Janie” died Friday October 19, 2012 at her residence.
Born in Clayton, Georgia January 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Watts. She was the wife of Bill Benfield. Janie was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Carver’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving youngest son, Mark Benfield and by brothers, Charlie, William and J.D. Watts,. and is survived by her husband, Bill Benfield of Clayton., two sons and their wives, John and Janet Benfield and Scot and Linda Benfield of Clayton, GA., one brother, Anthony Watts of Franklin, NC., one sister, Margaret Crunkleton of Tiger. One daughter-in-law, Melanie Benfield of Clarkesville. Five grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, Jordan, Madison and Faith Benfield. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be at 2:30 P.M. Sunday October 21, 2012 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cannon and Rev. Jewel Gaines officiating. Rev. Tony Goss and Layman Lloyd Hunter will conduct the graveside service at the John and Ethel Watts Family Cemetery, Clayton, GA.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Saturday October 20, 2012. The family is at the home on E. Wolf Creek Road Clayton, GA.
Hunter Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
