Lillian Ruth Williams

September 7, 1935 — March 17, 2022

Lillian “Ruth” Williams was called home unexpectedly by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 17, 2022 at the age of 86. Ruth passed away in her home and was surrounded by family shortly after. Ruth was adored by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her.

Ruth was born to Alma Minerva and Joseph Edward Dickerson on September 7, 1935 in the Dickerson home in Wolffork Valley, delivered by Dr Nevel. Ruth was one of eleven children: Jewel Dickerson Arrowood, Kenneth Dickerson, Donald Dickerson, Wayne Dickerson, Lynn Dickerson, Marcel Dickerson, Kyle Dickerson, Grant Dickerson, Tim Dickerson and Irma Dickerson Loupe.

Ruth married Bob Williams on September 10, 1954 and together they had three children: Randell Williams (Rhonda Williams), Lynnette Zoellner (David Zoellner) and Karen Holland (George Holland). Ruth had nine adorning grandchildren: Michael Zoellner, Tonya Zoellner, Karl Zoellner, Ruthie Zoellner, Kristopher Holland, Kelly Holland, Justin Nichols, Randi Williams and Bobby Williams. Ruth also had two great grandchildren: Tillman Holland and Paige Holland.

Ruth wrote in her Bible “Choices we make all our life. Focus on God. I am going to keep: Learning, Loving, Laughing, Living, Longing, Looking, Laboring, Leaning (trust God), Language, Listening to God.” Ruth loved God with all her heart and could be found reading her Bible faithfully. Her family would like to say that while our heart our broken that she is gone, we have not doubts that she singing a new song in Glory. We will hold her in our hearts until we see her again!
Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 2:00pm at Betty’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Zoellner officiating. Burial Will follow in the church cemetery .The body will be taken to the church lie in state from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. (The Funeral Hour).
Visitation will be at Hunter Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The family is at the home on Messer Creek Road. Rabun Gap, Georgia.
