Lillian Garland Hunter, 92, of Clayton, Georgia., died Monday August 4, 2014 in Cannonwood Village, Tiger, Georgia.
Born in Rabun County October 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late R.L. Garland and Nora Taylor Garland. She was the widow of Wade Ronia Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was a sales person in the insurance industry and a homemaker. She was mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Betty’s Creek Baptist Church.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Grant Marcus and Hope Hunter and one great grandson, Wade Chamblee and by brothers, Roy, Allen and Wayne Garland and by a sister, Winnie Ledford., and is survived by two sons, Ronia Hunter (Eunice) of Lakemont, GA., and Andy Hunter (Deborah) of Clayton. Four daughters, Almeita McGinnis (Greg) of Clayton and Cheryl Hooper (Caney) of Clayton., Pam Crowe (Mike) of Lawrenceville, GA., and Dena Wilson (Jerry) of Spartanburg, SC. Two sisters, Shannon Alley (Jack) of Tiger, GA., and Laney Brown of Clayton. Eleven grandchildren; Kelli, Jeff, Toby, Adam, Kit, Lindsey, Krista, Lauren, Kimberly, Misty and Duston. Sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services will be Thursday August 7, 2014 at 2:00 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gravley officiating. Burial will be in Rabun Memory Park.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be Thursday August 7, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. (The Funeral Hour). The family is at their respective residences.
