Lexie Scruggs

Lexie Justus Scruggs, 80, of Clayton , Georgia. wife of Bill Scruggs, died Tuesday May 9, 2017 at her home.

Born May 16, 1936 in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late O.V. Justus and Laura Maude Ledford Justus. Lexie was a homemaker and was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church and the Ideal Sunday School Class. She also taught the beginners Sunday School Class and taught Vacation bible School and was a member of the W.M.U.

Lexie was preceded in death by her parents, O.V. and Maude Justus, and by a sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Moody Smith and a son-in- law Eddie Dixon She is survived by her husband Bill Scruggs of the home., and by a son, John Scruggs of Knoxville, TN., Daughter Nancy Scruggs Dixon of Cumming,Ga. a brother , George Justus of Clayton and by a sister Judy Justus Smith (David) of Clayton, Ga.Four grandchildren , Brittany Scruggs and Sean Scruggs , Leah Dixon and Paul Dixon .

The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at Clayton Baptist Church Friday May 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Joey Thompson officiating. A Celebration of Life will continue from 2:00 P.M. To 4:00 P.M. The family is at home on Merry Dale Lane , Clayton , Ga.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Pruitt Cares Foundation 1626 Jeurgens Court , Norcross,Ga. 30093 and /or Rabun County Public Library , 73 Jo Dotson Circle, Clayton , Ga. 30525.
