Leslie Owens

Leslie Paul Owens, 59 of Clayton Georgia died Thursday July 18, 2013 in Walhalla, SC. Born in Rabun County, Nov 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Wayne Lesley Owens and Annie Sue Chastain Owens. He was employed at Reeves Hardware in Highlands, NC for a number of years and was a member of the Blue Valley Baptist Church.

Leslie is survived by two daughters Lorrie Holland (Joey) of Mt. Airy, NC and Sandra Small (Scott) of Walhalla, SC. Three sisters Margie Owens of Clayton, GA, Carol Austin (Dave) of Clayton, GA and Brenda Jenkins (Bobby) of Highlands, NC; six grandchildren Ian Holland, Austin Holland, Noah Nix, Morgan Clark, Haley Small and Gavin Small; two nephews Kelly Dendy and Tyler Owens; three nieces Tiffany Owens, Misty Barnes and Jennifer Findley also survive.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday July 21, 2013 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Oliver Rice officiating. Rev. Alton Dendy will conduct the graveside service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 3:00 PM, Sunday where family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM (the Funeral hour). The family is at the home of his sister on Jerry Gap Road, in the Satolah Community. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home, PO Box 653, Clayton, GA 30525 to aid in funeral expenses.
