Lawrence Lee Wylie, Jr. 80, Clayton
Lawrence Lee Wylie, Jr. 80, of Hwy 76 West, Clayton, GA. known to his friends as Larry, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at his residence. His many friends knew him (and his wife) as Larry and Gerry.
Born in Cisco, Texas, October 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Lawrence Wylie, Sr. and Audrey Forrest Wylie.
He was a retired public Elementary School Teacher in Boulder, Colorado and in Texas for more than thirty years. He belonged to BPOE 566 in Boulder, Colorado; the Boulder Valley Education Association; the Colorado Education Association; he was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Timpson Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry Wylie of the home – one son, Nick D. Wylie of Anderson, South Carolina (Nick teaches at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School), one brother, Forrest Wylie of Glendale, California, three grandchildren, Bonnie Bravo, Andrew Wylie and Tyler Wylie, also survive.
The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date but the family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the Alumni Center at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School, Rabun Gap, Georgia.
