Lassie McCall, 97, of Clayton, Georgia, died Sunday morning September 7, 2008 in Mountain View Health Care Center.
Born September 23, 1910 in Macon County, NC., she was the daughter of the late Avery and Laura Talley McCall. She was a retired public school teacher after 37 years of teaching service. She had attended Berry College, Rabun Gap Junior College and Western Carolina and graduated from Piedmont College in Demorest, GA. She was a member of the Clayton Church of God where she touched the lives of many people as well as in her teaching ministry.
She was the last member of her immediate family and is survived by a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins. With a special nephew caregiver, Sheridan Vinson, of Otto, NC., and a special niece caregiver, Martha Rogers, of Franklin, NC.
Funeral services will be Tuesday September 9, 2008 at the Clayton Church of God at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Bryan Alexander and the Rev. James Pendry officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Community Cemetery in Macon County, NC.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and will be taken to the Clayton Church of God where family will receive friend’s from 6 to 8 PM Monday night, September 8, 2008. The family is at their respective residences.
Pallbearers will be- Sheridan Vinson, Clinton Vinson, Denver Vinson, Louis Vinson, Dallas Vinson, and Travis Jones.
