Lassie Lawrence

Lassie Thompson Lawrence, 98, of Mt. Airy, GA., died Wednesday February 15, 2017 in Habersham Medical Center Demorest, GA.

Born in Rabun County, GA., May 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Luther J. Thompson and Ollie Belle English Thompson. She was the widow of Buren V. Lawrence., and was the last member of her immediate family. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lawrence, and by six brothers and seven sisters and is survived by four sons, Tom Lawrence of Mt. Airy, GA., Hubert Lawrence (Cathy) of Cleveland, GA., Glen Lawrence (Vera) of Lakemont, GA., and Don Lawrence (Maryann) of Demorest, GA., three daughters, Flora Howard of Mt. Airy, GA., Margie Goodman (Frank) of Columbus, Mississippi., and daughter, Susie and her financee James Gerrin of Cornelia, GA., twenty grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 18, 2017 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Pastor Madison McCrackin and Rev. Joe McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in the Bleckley Cemetery on HWY. 76 East, Clayton, GA.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday February 17, 2017. The family is at the home of her daughter, Flora Howard on Dick’s Hill Parkway, Mt. Airy, GA.
