Lamar Stancil 77, Clayton, GA
Lamar Stancil, 77, of Clayton, husband of Louise Allison Stancil, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Mountain View Health Care in Clayton.
Born March 21, 1933 in Rabun County he was a son of the Late Wofford and Jessie Mae Ramey Stancil. He was a Machinist by trade and was employed by Rabun Metal Products and was a member of the Chechero Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Stancil and a brother, Donald Stancil.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Larry Sheffield of Mt. Airy, GA; a sister, Clara Carnes of Clayton, GA; a brother, Rev. Vaughn Stancil of Clayton, GA; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Chechero Baptist Church with the Rev. Milton Wilbanks, Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Avery Lawrence officiating.
Burial will be in the Dixon Cemetery.
The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM Friday evening July 2, 2010.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 PM Saturday, July 3, 2010 to lie in state until the funeral hour.
The family is at the home of his brother Rev.Vaughn Stancil in the Chechero Community Hwy 76 East, Clayton, GA.
