Lamar Holcomb

Lamar Gordon Holcomb, 83, of Mtn. City, Ga. died Tuesday June 23, 2015 at his home. Born in Tiger, Ga., Oct. 17, 1931 he was the son of the late Gordon J. Holcomb and Effie A. Marcus Holcomb. He was retired from maintenance and housekeeping in Hospitals & Nursing Homes. He was a member of the Rabun County Coon Hunters Club and was a member of the Blue Heights Baptist Church.

Lamar is survived by his wife, Suzanne S. Holcomb of the home, one son, Wayne Lamar Holcomb of Tiger, Ga. two daughters, Patsy Nation of Westminister, SC., Anita J. Cheves of Tiger, Ga., one brother, Bill Holcomb of Tiger, Ga., One sister, Betty Coleman of Clayton, Ga. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.

The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday July 2, 2015 at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe Southards and Layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 6 P.M. (the service hour). The Family is at the Home on Shepherd Street in Mtn. City, Ga.
